About me
Hello, my name is Alexandra.
I feel pleased to welcome you at my professional website :) .
I am 17 and I study at the High school of Ján Adam Rayman in Prešov, while expanding my cultural education by studying at the Department of Art at the Elementary school of Art Októbrova, also located in Prešov. I have successfully absolved the Elementary school Mirka Nešpora. I admit, my plans for future are quite misty. I would love to study biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics or biological engineering, because science and the opportunity to help others fulfill me.
Portfolio
I love spending my free time by making any kind of art, whether by painting, drawing or just happy scribbling. I know my work is nothing great in the magical world of Art, but I truly enjoy making it as much as watching every new dance of colors on the paper.
My portfolio consists of a few humble pieces of my work…
P. S: All the pictures are copyrighted.
Hobbies
Reading
Flipping through the pages, traveling to the most fantastic places and living the lives of all those characters is breathtaking and entrancing, especially when a human wants to escape from the real world for a while. I often visit the city library, where, one summer, I have volunteered. My work involved book reorganization and tidying, preparation of activities for children and book recommending.
Yoga
A perfect way how to exercise and meditate. During this type of exercise, muscles strengthen, lungs capacity expands, breathing quality enhances, overall flexibility increases, stress releases and body connects to the mind.
Gardening
When sun shines and grass dances to the wind’s silent orchestra, an odor of earth flows through the air, on the trees, the first sprouts are blooming and all the plants peacefully grow, I feel a wonderful calmness.
Science
In my opinion, the opportunity to learn and explore is an enormous gift.
World education is limited and uneven, that is why I’m grateful for the opportunity to expand my knowledge about how everything around us works.
In this section you can see some pieces of my science work.

Ecology
I am trying to expose an accurate importance of the environmental problems, which I consider not only as actual, but also as urgent, and participate on the solutions. It is not that hard. Fortunately, lots of ways how to slow down (or, if we all worked together, to stop even) approach of an ecosystem collapse, exist. Biological activity and purity of the ecosystems is not only essential for local macrobiotic or microbiotic fauna and flora, but equally it is for us, for people.
Here you can find some tips:
- You can save heaps of plastic by reusing your shopping plastic bags (frequently used for vegetables, fruit and baked goods).
- Do not buy packed water. Minerals occur in the eastern Slovakia’s water naturally.
- Try to avoid fast-fashion. Modern clothes we often wear are produced in inhuman conditions at the cheap labor factories (Bangladesh, Korea, Pakistan, India... – women and children usually work about 12 hours per day in filth, without any fixed wages, holidays, medical care after an injury or basic social welfare), not mentioning once out of fashion, we throw the clothes away, not even considering how it has been produced or where it will end. Approximately 60% of fabric is made up of a plastic material – not biodegradable synthetic material, yet (you can read more about plastics in the section Science).
- Check out the second hands. Who knows, maybe you will be surprised.
- Contamination is one of the most aggressive pollutants of the environment. If you have a garden, try to use natural fertilization (manure, compost) and pest removal (aphids hate fermented nettle solution).
- Avoid sprays. All of them. Sprays contain freons – chlorofluorocarbons, organic gases used as propellants. Freons cause ozone depletion when exposed to the UV radiation (chemical bonds break and molecular chlorine escapes). One atom of chlorine decomposes 100 000 molecules of ozone, which contributes to an eventual expansion of the ozone holes, thus penetration of the dangerous forms of the solar radiation into the atmosphere (therefore the higher risk of skin diseases, including skin cancer, and eye diseases, including blindness, occurs).
- Check the ingredients of the basic hygiene products you use. Shampoos, conditioners and soaps are often tested on animals. Animals experience pain and suffer, too. In fact, much more intensively than people do. Prefer vegan or CrueltyFree content. Maybe you wonder how it is possible to consider nontoxicity of any product without proper testing. Well, an artificial skin is one of the solutions (if you are interested, you can find out more about artificial skin HERE).
