My name is Patrik, I am 17 years old and I study at the Gymnázium j. A. Raymana in the city of Prešov.

My primary motivation to create this website was my introduction to You.

Education

Primary education

I was attending classes at this school since my first to fourth grade. That means approximately from 7 to 11 years of age.

Second primary school

At this school I acquired primary education of the 2nd. degree. This is an equivalent of british secondary programm and american junior high school.

Presently ongoing education

I decided to study at this institution, because grammar schools, such as this generaly have high acceptance rate of applicants to the universities. Also in our region it is believed, that this particular grammar school is somehow superior to others.

As I already had a vision of my dream career in ninth grade of primary education,
this school has become perfect for me from the viewpoint of the focus on technical, natural sciences. This enables me to study these subjects more profoundly, than other grammar schools in eastern part of Slovakia.

Language skills

Nowadays, in the age of IT, it is not sufficient to understand only the problems of ones field. Employers increasingly favour candidates to the higher positions based on thei language skills. What was just 20 years ago a rarity is today standard. This is why we skould not forget, zhat only way to be more attractive to potentional employer is to be simply better. This is the part of the reason , why I started learning german, as my second foreign language. Not only do I go to school, I also take classes of English at the local language school. According to Common European Framework for Languages, I should be able to speak english at the level of B2 or C1. But I personaly believe, that it is not possible to measure ones knowledge, because no matter how much we know about particular topic, there is still more to learn. When it comes to other language, I decided to learn German. I am learning it since 7th. grade and my knowledge is about at the level A2 - B1.

IT Skills

Nowadays we need IT Skills to forward our career. In the majority of cases, the knowledge of the Microsoft programs like MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point are sufficient. However in some professions, our knowledge must extent beyond average IT literacy. I am also slowly acquiring useful information from this field, predominantly in IT classes at our grammar school. I am sure, that I will appreciate them in my future career, further academic life, or in other classes.

Interpersonal skills

Nowadays job market it pogressively more focused on working enviroment. Companies organize teambuilding events and generaly employee ready to cooperate is beeing appreciated much more than productive individual. This is why I am determined to work on my people skills like cooperation, communication and generaly keeping an open mind.

Hobbies

I consider it to be very important to pay attention to plaesant activities as much as to those necessary ones. Of course, these activities vary from person to person. Following activities accomodate my needs.

Book-reading

Since early childhood, I was more invested into the book reading, than the majority of my peers. I learned how to read words written in capital letters before attending primary school and therefore I had no problems understanding the stories, that I liked to read at that time. In contrast to my childhood, today I prefer analytical, historic and factographic literature over beletry.

Skiing

As I live in close proximity to a small ski-resort, I was very interested in this sport since my early childhood. Despite the fact, that generaly, I am not a big fan of sports, I knew basics of skiing before even attending nursery. Today skiing is my favourite sport and only sport, That I genuinely like.Even if the weather is restricting me for the vast portion of the year, I always enjoy it in winter.
